Curiosities from the unidentified moths pit

I’ve been lending a hand to dejayM and HB in their unidentified moths project, which can be found here:

The two observations below are striking and ought to be identifiable but no one has so far been able to put a name to them.

108 reads so far. Both the posture/attitude and wing shape look distinctive.

122 reads so far. This must be identifiable (and I’m expecting to feel a little foolish when someone says “It’s X, of course, silly!”).

Anyone have any thoughts?
