For months I have had problems accessing ispot. Last night I posted on it and saw two typos. I immediately went to Edit but couldnt get in. I finally managed this morning.
I find my time is limited too so if I have several posts, I get to about three then I am cut off again.
I have also been having the error 500 message and am daily emptying cache and data as recommended.
What used to be a relaxing and pleasant time putting things on ispot has become a real trial.
It never used to be like this.
I agree, Helen and others will be echoing this!
Yes, they/we are echoing this.
It seems particularly unstable today.
We persevere, but the “grumpy old man” in me grows stronger…
iSpot obstructiveness is the norm these days. However, if it’s any consolation iRecord is also timing out all the time for me at the moment and is essentially unusable.
I’m having problems with quite a few other sites recently - looks as if so many are changing and my computer is not happy with the changes.
I’ve been busy on another project at the moment - but when I check iSpot I’ve found F5 does the trick for me
I think that iRecord is pretty much OK now. I put up several records yesterday with no problem.
No, unfortunately it’s all rather erratic.
I was back to square one on the 14th - when an attempt to post an observation went into the dreaded cycle - allowed some work and failed to post. As usual, I felt that I was being blamed for this. Nothing I could do on iSpot from late afternoon until after midnight - so sad.
iSpot is intermittent for me. But I’ve not had any probs with iRecord in the last day or so.
I have just seen the notice about maintenance work on 4th-5th June and hiw the site will be down.
I sincerely hope the maintenance works. I am still having difficulty logging in and staying logged in. I am reluctant now to post because sometimes after writing a post, it will not load.
I will keep trying though.
I mean 3rd-4th June. Wish I could edit.
In theory it is just updating quite a lot of background code and nothing that should magically improve things but there is always a chance it might squash a bug in that code.
I will be crossing my fingers
We can edit our own posts for about 30 days…at the bottom of your post should be a pencil icon.
there seems to be no discernible USER improvements. I failed to add an obervation this morning after a few attempts and the same number of Browser clearings. But I see 5 obs have been added this morning (so far)

Who’s on line-
I never see this anymore - how did you?
.
Then taking this opportunity to draw your attention to my latest SHOWCASE.
( @miked no comments - does anybody see them? Is it a wast of time?)
I love this concept but there are all sorts of things that could be done to add interest to each image.
Is there a way to copy the individual URLs?
Meanwhile - I experienced no real problems over the two days - but my Flickr had some time off line, and so did Kew POWO on the weekend.

Yes, no change from random site fails, have tried to do things and so often can only get so far before the hanging up
I suspect showcases will start to be used more and viewed more. They were featured in the latest grant application that Janice put in couple of days ago, one of the things asked for was ways to make them better and useful for more things.
This is terrible! Really can’t do much for long periods, then the worst of all: think it’s going okay and about to complete adding an obs - not a long one! - then I get a red banner ‘can’t be added’ (paraphrase), then spinning and hanging and eventually black 500.
