I saw this on dried plant stems in the roadside verge in a Worcestershire village and have no idea where to begin to look. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Better to post this on the observations page - these forums don’t see as many visitors. (I suspect it’s a Myxomycete, a.k.a. Slime Mould.)
