We’ve had quite a few exceptional posts lately: it’s perhaps unfair on t’others to pick this one. But I’m just amazed at the versatility of the ichneumon wasps: add to that excellent photography, and skilful identification.

How about an acorn weevil? Not that i am suddenly knowlegeable on weevils, but there’s a picture of it in front of me in the Spring 2022Avon Wildlife Trust magazine.
Curculio given as genus and the Acorn Weevil | NatureSpot
suggests C. nucum.
