I was watching a recording of the meeting of county moth recorders, organised by Butterfly Conservation, which took place in January, 2024.
They pointed to a resource which was new to me… a chart of what macromoths are flying in your area on any given night of the year, based on the 35 million macromoth records which Butterfly Conservation have accumulated.

I ran my trap last night and got many of the species predicted for TQ34 (my home 10x10 kms square). (This is for adult moths, not the early stages.)
