Fall of Hirundines

Yesterday while doing fieldwork on Cricklade meadow I noticed a load of what looked like sand martins. Today with a load of volunteers on the meadow they pointed out that quite a number of them were actually swallows. Perhaps 30(-50) birds in total swooping around but difficult to estimate number as surrounding us and moving so fast. They were there for perhaps an hour mid-late morning. One of the volunteers said they had seen them at same time in some previous years and I also recall that - there is a tie in as we record the meadow at approx same date each year so if we remember seeing them then it is indeed at approx same date each year.
