Interaction with Google Lens

Today I tried to enter a copy of images from iSpot into Google Lens (Google Images), and Google was unable to access them. (This could be worked round by downloading the image onto my computer first.)
Is this a side-effect of last week’s updates? or of a configuration change made to improve performance?

Update:I suppose it could just be the usual accessibility issues, but I hadn’t hit those with Google Lens before. Also I successfully fed at least one of the images to PlantNet.

Unfortunately Google Lens has altered its presentation. It seems no longer as useful as previously
I have it installed In Chrome under Screen Lens as a shortcut

It is still not as efficient as it used to be

Google Lens is now back to working with iSpot image URLs.
