interesting infomation on wind turbines from fact check
Interesting stuff, Zo.
Even the tone of the Facebook article, quite apart from all the misleading statistics, is hectoring - you can tell that the writer is trying to generate emotion against wind farms.
The stuff about bird deaths is crazy. How could most of the bird deaths be of rare species - that defies logic. ‘I’m a common bird, so I’ll be OK if I fly by that wind farm.’
In any case, as the Fact check says, birds will suffer catastrophic losses from climate change (in fact, you could argue that they already are), which puts the losses from collisions with wind farms into context. And how many birds are led to their deaths by being disorientated by the flares of North Sea oil drilling platforms?
(For the record, I didn’t read the entire article, I skimmed a lot of it.)
thanks. yes it is very interesting. it didnt say anything about the north sea specificaly but it did talk about oil and the turbines aswell
