‘The distinctive geology of the Cape Peninsula has brought a unique biodiversity and ecosystem to the region’

An interesting article which I came across while trying to find out if there might be granite on Bonteburg (in the Cape Point area).
I’ve been trying to find a name for the colourful Lachenalias at Cape Point all of which seem to be growing on Sandstone outcrops - wondering if we have any geologists who could advise, could there be granite below?

Some other interesting locations are at Venus Pool - I may have pictures - and Black Rocks.
The rocks along the Jager Walk at Fish Hoek are I think granite - my lichen pictures should show.
