I may be up the creek, but I’m wondering if this particular gremlin is something to do with using iSpot on a smartphone.
The reason I wonder is that currently, there are six guests and six users on-line. I am top of the list (and am a comparative newbie) and Derek is not there - which surely cannot be true!.
The code that calculates who is online hasn’t changed at all - its now just called in one place - the home page. I can’t think of any reason why the numbers are apparently down.
I was in principle online at the time, but the site hangs, and times out so often at the moment it has probably lost track.

We’re working on bug fixes at the moment but are not certain what’s causing the intermittent issues - its likely to be database related because you seem to get the static pages of a page but the sections that comes from database tables don’t load.
The “Who’s online” panel may re-appear if you go to another part of the site and then return to the home page.
