Visiting less known hidden away places and hedgehogs

I havnt seen a hedgehog during the day out and about before except in the garden and when I went out yesterday when after a long time we found the orchard I saw on the map from some days ago I walked round the orchard which is quiet big and it was an adventure cause I havnt exsplored it before and to my surprise I saw hedgehog. however due to the amount of time we were looking for the orchard alot of time was wasted and I needed to be back for someone else to go out very soon the person that was with me is an african lady not from the uk, she moved to the uk to get a job but doesnt know much about british wildlife and isnt familer with them. cause of health and safety reasons they wouldnt let me touch it or anything. my mobile data didnt work. if it did that would of helped us cause wifi signal was also bad so wouldnt of been able to contact the RSPCA unlike what most people would suggest let alone a hedgehog shelter. add to that im not familier with this orchard. it was my first time visiting so wouldnt of known if there was any nearby. I like to help wildlife and get out of my way to when they need help both in the garden and out and about. but in this situation I was unable to cause of many factors and I was therfore lost to what to do cause of this. I didnt have other options in this case and there was nothing I could do. by the time I get back I sent my photos and sent the hedgehog Common hedgehog | Observation | UK and Ireland | iSpot Nature

any ideas what to do for when these factors come into play again should I spot another one next time if I visit again

I don’t think a hedgehog seen in daylight necessarily needs the RSPCA. Unless it is clearly injured or distressed in some way, I would let it go about its business.

I wasnt talking about ones walking about but rather ones not walking about so I was talking about an one that you arnt sure if is just sleeping, ill or something else or not I added the link to clarify what kind of state i mean

i might start visiting there aswell cause im looking for and visiting places I havnt been to before and i liked it on my very first visit yesterday but I cant say weather I will come across another situaion where there is a hedgehog lieing on the ground in daylight and the factors that prevented me from looking at it properly and seeing if its ok and being able to help the hedgehog will be there if I visit again. its one thing when your in a garden but you dont tend to have the equipment nesacery and prepeared in case you see a hedgehog in need when your just simply going somewhere you dont know and wildlife watching if youv never had it happen out and about before.

its even harder if your not familer with the area when this sort of thing ocurs that and it being a place where naturaly signal isnt good or not working (aswell) and not being able to pick them up or anything like that combined if I could get around these things I could help hedgehogs on the spot when I visit these places I havnt been before then if I were to come across another scenario with a hedgehog like this one it wouldnt prevent me from being able to help one the next time Im in a similar situation
